Survey Results: The Transition from Crib to Bed

Well, now that we have made our transition to the big girl bed, I wanted to take a moment to share with you the results of the survey that we took a couple of weeks ago! I found these responses to be very interesting!

This survey was conducted to analyze the transition from crib to bed. We had 15 participants.

93% of people reported that the transition was either perfect (with no sleep disruptions), or that it went pretty smoothly (with minimal sleep disruptions)! That number was huge to me! Even though we only had 15 responses with our survey, we had a variety of age ranges. The 1 person that reported the transition going “average” (with some sleep disruption), is the same person that reported that they had not done sleep training with their child previously. This was the only difference I could find with that data point.

Ages ranged from 12 months to 3 years of age. There was no correlation with age to differentiate the 46% that had their transition go perfectly. 14 of the 15 participants reported that they’d make the transition again at the same age if they were to do it again.

I am simply amazed at these results. We obviously experienced similar results with Caroline. Read all about it here, but I’d also report that the transition went perfectly. We fell in the 18-24 mo category, and we had previously sleep trained. We are also enforcing a stay in bed until we come to get you rule, and utilizing the visual reference of the ok to wake clock that we purchased. All in all, we are thrilled to have made the transition, and it sounds like everyone that participated in the survey was as well!

If you are at all hesitant to make the switch, I hope you are comforted by the below data! Seems like things will go pretty smoothly at whatever age you choose to do the switch. Check out our transition plan to help your transition go as successful as possible.
