These schedules have worked so well for us, that if she is crying…I know it’s due to something other than hunger or tiredness… and Caroline builds her own schedules.
I provide the basic starting point, and she always gives me cues as to how and when I needed to adjust it.
So she tweaked and made them perfect!
The schedules that we used with Caroline worked so well, that I want to remember them when it comes time for baby number two, and I want to share our success with other mamas!
Baby #2 is now home, so you’ll also find his schedules listed below!
William was a preemie and started off in the NICU, so those schedules may also be of specific interest below.
A baby is human…not a robot! So all of the schedules I built were flexible…
I allowed for 30 minutes of flex time either direction and adjusted the schedule as need be throughout the day.
If a baby is sick or teething or whatever else might be going on…the schedule is NO longer priority.
The basis of each schedule (or 1 cycle) is for the baby to eat, then have some play time or wake time, then sleep and repeat.
Babies do very well on consistent schedules.
It also allows you to plan your day and anticipate what a specific cry might be. I always follow a basic pattern throughout the day of eat, wake sleep.
Eat, Wake/Play, Sleep
Eat, Wake, Sleep Cycle
Find out more about what the cycle is, and how to implement it.
This pattern will help your baby to learn to fall asleep without being nursed or bottle fed to sleep.
They will start to learn the pattern of events and will expect them!
This will help tremendously when you are trying to get your baby to learn to fall asleep on his/her own.

SLEEP TRAINING
Sleep Training- what worked for us and a minute by minute, day by day log!
Naps
A page all about how to deal with naps- how to drop naps, how to help your baby when they have short naps, and more.
I read many blogs and books and general concepts before Caroline arrived. Everything from Babywise to the baby whisperer, etc.
My general rule of thumb is that you need schedules and organization, but you also have to be flexible and learn from your baby.
